Creating a story (style Nemesismerri)
First of all yes I have too many projekts going on. Trust me I know, I should write challenges, and the book reviews (I'm sorry I'm slow) And other stuff. But I desided that since I got over my art block I could start to work on one of my short stories. Or it might turn into novella, or novel. I don't know. But I wanted to give you guys tips how to actually get started to write a book. A road to actually publishing something. (it's gonna be long so this is why I have the part one) And this is a long process, and don't cut anything away compleately. I mean that there are the points like planing, first draft, second draft, other drafts, "final" draft, editing. So don't just start writing straight away without a plan the final draft and cut the drafts and editing and planing. You can try to edit less if you prefer to be faster, but do edit your work.
Now let me just say that the final part, publishing ain't gonna be easy. And it isn't going to be out anytime soon, because I am only at the first part. Planing.
1) Have an idea. You can get it from pictures, music, movies, quotes, other writing, from the text in popcorn bags, from dreams, or from observing people.
Sometimes it is difficult, but that's why probably everyone who blogs about writing, talk about writing, authors, writers, novelists, and anyone who knows something about writing will tell you to keep a notebok or something similar with you, all the time.
My problem is that I know when my inspiration will stricke but I am never prepared fro some reason. Usually I get tons of ideas in the midnight. But sometimes I have my phone and I can write them up. But if you don't have battery (though nowadays you can in some trains charge your phone so that should not be a problem) you can write on anything. just write your ideas up.
My idea is from the ten book title challenge, actually I had a difficulty to deside which one I should pick so i asked from the most important person of the world (well my world) (and no I did not ask myself). And he chose the
hunting the void for me. So I'll write that.
The second part is difficult for me, because I am perfectionist in writing, I want the plans to be perfect and the final to be perfect, because I have read so many awesome books that are perfect. Which is kinda dumb, because I know the books have been through editing rewriting and rewriting and countles of months or years planing.
2) Anyone ever heard of snowflake method. Yeah well it's on planing bethod of some sort. So Look it up,
here. And in writing communities people talk about lot of different ways to plan a novel or a story. And for example today I have read three articles of the snowflake method from one site. And the fourth one from different site.
Few tips in planing it. Close your computer, close the TV and hide your phone. If you have to keep a track of time, get something little more disinteresting, like a regular clock, or alarm clock. Hide any distracktions and well take a comfortable place and plan. I am going to use snowflake planing method for this one.
- write one sentence summary of the novel. Young scientist visits a viruslab and gets stuck there with supernatural beign.
- Write an entire paragraph. From where it begins to where it ends. Now I am not very good at this and I am probably going to keep it as a secret what happens.
Now this is as far as I am going in this part. But I'll see you as soon as possible in the next part.
